RESIDENTIAL REFUSE COLLECTION RULES

Required container:    Up to 3 standard 30 gallons garbage cans, having a tapered body, a tight fitting lid and handles on the sides and lid, or one 90 gallon polycart are required.  No other containers, such as barrels, tubs, baskets, etc. are acceptable.  The combined weight of any container and contents should not exceed more than 75 pounds.   The city has the 90 gallon polycarts for sale.  If you are interested in purchasing one, contact the city office.  Once the polycart is paid for it becomes the sole possession of the purchaser.

Grass Clippings:      No grass clippings may be placed in any garbage container for city disposal.  The grass clippings and clippings only may be hauled to the city grass clipping disposal area located on the west edge of town.  No containers should be left at the grass disposal area.

Trees & Shrubs:           Absolutely no trees or shrubs shall be placed in any trash container for city pick-up and are not allowed to be dumped at the city grass clipping facility.

Limbs & Branches:      Tree limbs and branches greater than 2 inches in diameter and/or 4 feet in length will not be collected.  Tree limbs and branches which do not exceed the above measurements will be collected if they are bundled, securely tied and do not weigh over 75 pounds per bundle.

 Unacceptable Items:   No building project materials (including concrete, brick, shingles, sheet rock, etc) and no electronics (including televisions, computers, microwaves, etc) are allowed. Questionable items should be approved by calling the city office at 854-2266.      

Recommendations:     It is recommended to keep cans clean and dry, thereby promoting sanitation and extending the life of the container, moist garbage may be wrapped in newspaper or other absorbent material or placed in a plastic bag.  This procedure will also lessen the chance of material freezing to the can in cold weather with resultant need for the collectors to beat on the container to empty it. 

Collection Schedule:  
West of Interocean Ave. (Collected Tuesdays and Fridays)
Between Interocean Ave. and Worley Ave., (Collected Mondays and Thursdays)
East of Worley Ave., (Collected Wednesdays and Fridays)

EXCEPTION:
East side of 415-700 Blocks of Worley Ave., (Collected Mondays and Thursdays)
East side of 100-405 Blocks of Worley Ave., (Collected Wednesdays and Fridays)
Holidays: Weekday Holidays, the trash will be collected on the following workday.
